En réalité, le Progrès, de l'éducation des sciences et des techniques, est un moyen pour l'homme d'exercer sa liberté et n'implique nullement qu'il en fera un usage au bénéfice de l'humanité. Ce Progrès là est nécessaire mais ne saurait être suffisant. Il est nécessaire car il n'existe pas de liberté de choix sans information sur sa nature, ce qui implique l'éducation.
